Hi all! My name is Kristen Skinner. I am the owner and Photographer of Scopel Photography. I attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh from 2011-2013 where I received my Associates Degree in Photography. I too have many years' experience in the field. I won best portfolio my final year of school. I now specialize in newborn and kids, family, senior, and wedding portraits.

Something more personal...

I am a 33 year old woman who of course loves to take photos, paint, write, and play with her pets. I not only take photos professionally, but I also enjoy just taking snapshots of anything that catches my eye. I love how a photo is not just a picture, but a memory. I can look at an image and remember exactly what I did that day, what I was wearing, or who I was with. It makes me happy!

Painting is something new for me. I love color and art. I love the fancy paintings in a museum that are filled with detail and design that clearly took a lot of thought to create. I also love the ones that look like the artist just took a paintbrush across a canvas, made a bright yellow line of paint, and called it a day. Usually there's more to it with those simple looking works of art. I love the paintings that are famous and highly known. My favorites are "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci and "The Creation of Adam" by Michelangelo.

Animals are a big part of my life as well. I have volunteered my time at local shelters and have had pets all my life. From hamsters, rabbits, cats and dogs to bearded dragon lizards. I currently have a cat named Mowgli and three dogs named Aurora, Autumn, and Cooper. I love them to pieces.

I'm also married! We have been married for ten years! We met back in 2010. In 2015 he presented to me a cute little tabby kitten with a collar around his neck that held my ring! Then he asked me to marry him! It was one of the best moments of my life. Who wouldn't love getting proposed to with a kitten!? We got married on June 11, 2016 in a beautiful church, with a really fun reception that followed. A few months later, we honeymooned in Hawaii.

We now have a son named Jordan! He is my everything! His smile and laugh just make my day. He couldn't be more perfect. He's growing up so fast.

My life is a journey. A journey that involves creativity, fun, and love. I am happy that I got the chance to share a bit of it with you!
